Cloud's face is shrouded by a dark hood, the cloak of which is wrapped tightly around his body. It always snows near Void Castle, which means the snowflakes slowly drifting past his face blend in well with his ivory skin; under the hood, the most defining thing to be seen is a pair of bright pinkish-red eyes, with dark red pupils. He leans against one of the few, crippled trees to grow in the shadow of the castle, overlooking the cliff. He's here to watch out for intruders, though any vampire is welcome to come to the castle. He's on the watch for humans, and four-legged beasts.
It's doubtful that any will try anything. But he's here, nonetheless, seven feet of statue-like whiteness, shrouded in a black cloak to blend in with both the night, and the blighted trunk of the dead tree. Waiting. Watching. Expecting.

"Snow" Hyrax mutters, trudging through the snow, as the flakes hit into his trench-coat. He really wishes he hadn't worn his sneakers, hiking boots would have been bloody better! His hat's almost flying off in the wind that was picking up. Still, his hair looked messy and tangled underneath. He hasn't brushed it in a long time. Maybe two weeks. Hyrax isn't a tramp but he's been having troubles lately. His pale, slightly flushed skin feels bitter against the cold. He rubs his face, trying to warm up. His clothes are sodden and wet; it's strange that he hasn't caught frostbite or some other cold-related illness. He stops suddenly. About 150 yards away was a clump of trees, and beyond it, a huge castle. "Oho-ho" He whispers darkly, staring at the tall castle. His orange eyes, strange for a human looking creature, blinked in curiosity. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to take a look" He chuckles, rubbing his hands together. "I should have shifted into a bloomin' Bernese mountain dog, at least I wouldn't be freezing that way" Hyrax clenches his teeth and continues on, his eyes surveying the dark trees up ahead. (I hope this is okay, I don't normally rp in present tense ^-^;

Cloud's eyesight isn't the best. He's practically blinded by the least light and albinos very rarely have good vision to begin with; even so, he can pick out the movement of another living being by the sound of their heartbeat, their breath, the stench of the heavy coat they are wearing. It's male, and it is moving in this direction, though he can't yet pick out the species or age. Blinking his poor eyes, he shifts away from the tree and pulls back the hood of his cloak.
Wind instantly whips his shoulder length white hair away, pale skin just as white as the snow. A long scar runs from one side of his face to the other, diagonally cutting his face in half as fangs poke from his upper lip, revealing his clearly vampiric status. Though the fact that he's seven feet tall and looks dead might have already done that.
"Who goes there? State your name and species!"

Hyrax suddenly saw the figure step from the trees. His cloak billowed in the wind and Hyrax mentally hit himself for not hiding better.
He heard the barking voice, although it was almost whipped away by the wind.
"My name's Hyrax. I'm..not sure what I am. I'm not human, nor vampire like you. I'm a shapeshifter, though I'm sure there's a fancy name for it somewhere. I'm a traveller...space and time traveller, to be exact." Hyrax chuckles, hoping to sound friendly, hoping this new character won't jump on him and rip his orange-amber eyes out. His eyes twitch, the dark amber pupils darting back to the castle, then back at this other figure.
"What's your name?" He asks with curiosity, daring to take a few steps forward.

Cloud blinks at the figure, which keeps approaching him as it speaks. Usually, things just run the hell away from him. This one seems to be curious if anything, and once he's assured that they are not human, he considers them a pretty much friendly figure. His deep voice rumbles when he speaks, practically growling each word from the back of his throat, though he doesn't mean to sound as threatening as it comes out.
"My name is Cloud Bloodsong, my... father owns this castle."
Of course, when a vampire says that, one assumes that they mean the vampire who turned them. Which is partially right in Cloud's case, having been found and changed when on the brink of death. But his real father was a vampire anyway, and Alan, the lord, has adopted him as a son rather than a servant. Few people expect vampires to be so welcoming, but the Bloodsongs are well known for taking in orphan creatures, and giving them new lives as vampires if they are mortal.
"If you are not human, then you are welcome here. Would you like to come in out of the snow? I can find one of my siblings to take my post."

Hyrax grins brokenly "Cloud. I don't think I've heard that one before. Nice." He takes more steps forward Cloud;he is close enough to see the blood-red eyes and the ivory pale skin, as well as his large coat.
"It's a good castle, looks strong. And..warm" Hyrax says, a tremor running through his body even though he cannot feel the cold as much as a human could.
"I might just take you up on that, actually. I haven't stopped anywhere for quite a long time.." He murmers, trying to think. His head pounds, and he breaths in quickly. He gives Cloud a shaky grin.

Cloud offers the other a slightly amused smile, and then looks up at the castle, only able to see a blurry shape in the light of the moon. "Well, no-one has ever managed to invade this castle. It's called Void Castle for a reason; invaders go in, but they don't come out. Usually they are humans, since all others are welcome here. Or Ra-Raelians." He mutters the name of Ra-Vale's twin world in disgust, as any vampire would.
Noticing the other's shiver, he removes his massive cloak in a swift movement and drapes it around the smaller creature, pulling the hood over his head, warming him. The inside of the cape is sewn with werewolf fur, providing perfect insulation against the bitter wind. Underneath it, Cloud was wearing a simple white shirt and black pressed trousers, ending in black boots. He doesn't feel the cold and the cloak was for camouflage more than anything.
"RHAJA!" He shouts, still staring upwards. When someone runs down the snowy bank instantly, he nods to Hyrax. "Come this way," and walks off towards the castle's large doors, leaving behind a short red-haired vampire in his place. One of his brothers, it is assumed.

Hyrax jumps slightly as the coat is dropped on him and his eyes widen, but it passes in less than a split second. The coat was very warm, fur-lined and Hyrax nodded briefly in thanks.
The vampire was off down towards the castle now, he presumed, and followed quickly. Another vampire was at the post now. He hurried on, catching up with Cloud.
"Uh..Can I ask..where am I?" Hyrax questions, hoping not to sound foolish "I mean...I'm here by mistake, actually."

Cloud puts one of his hands against the door, lowering his head to murmer something under his breath. The door glows for a second, then opens with a deep creeeeaaaak, revealing a dark and incredibly warm interior, most of the floors being made of stone covered in rag carpets, the walls painted the browny-red colour of dried blood.
"Void Castle, in Ra-Vale. Where are you from? Hopefully not Ra-Rael, the land we are connected to."
As he closes the heavy door behind them, he pushes his long white hair out of his face and blinks a few times. Because it is so dark, he can see far better. The Hyrax is suprisingly small considering his strong scent, and has amber eyes that are slightly unnerving. Most of Ra-Vale are wary around animals. Those eyes are very... predator-like.
"So what brings you here?"

"Void castle...okay..yeah, I can deal with that" Hyrax mutters briefly.
Hyrax glanced around the dark castle. It smelled faintly musty, and looked quite old. His orange-amber eyes glint fearfully for a moment. What had his father told him? 'What, when he was in a drunken rage' Hyrax's mind snapped. No he whispered. The voice snarled at him 'Never trust a vampire!' His head hurt. You can't hurt me anymore He thought strongly. The pain. The abuse. The hurt.
"I'm a time traveller. I came here by mistake..like I said. I have my watch" He says, swallowing. "My watch is a transportational device. I mucked up the numbers..you input them here, you see" Hyax grumbled "And then it takes you. It's only multi-dimensional, it doesn't hurt anybody. They're manufactured to take you through rifts in the universe. There are loads of them - you just need the coding to get there, y'know, like a computer program?"
Hyrax wondered dully if they even had computers here. Had he gone back in time, or forward? Most likely back. Or was he in a different dimension? He certainly hadn't ment to. Infact, all Hyrax had been trying to do when he put in the wrong buttons was get to Asda.
"..You follow me? Anyway..that's why I'm here. Never heard of this place before, though it does seem interesting. By the way, I'm not naturally an animal. I was born with the gift of shapechanging, although I haven't done it in a long time. It hurts." He licked his lips. He hadn't talked that much for quite a long time." Now that he was inside, he pulled off the cloak that Cloud had lent him, and handed it back.

Cloud can smell the nervousness rolling off of the smaller male, and as he takes the cloak to hang it up, he offers him a smile. "We're not going to bite you. We only drink from humans, and we've already eaten this week." With that, he leads the way into what looks like a sitting room. Several people are in there, and they nod to Cloud before clearing out. There's something that looks like a computer in the corner, so when Hyrax refers to it, he grins.
"Oh, the things we get from Earth, right? I didn't know they time travelled on Earth. Our world is a shadow world, created by magic. Scientists like myself reckon that it's a split off from Earth. We took all the magic with us. Or at least most of it, if there are shapeshifters down there, unless they're descended from Ra-Raelians. You might be of vampire descent, since we're able to shapechange a little. My specialities are fog and lions, hence the name Cloud."
Most of the rooms in the castle are lit by small fire torches, though there is the electric light here and there. It's not because of the lack of science, but more to do with vampires preferring the less harsh light of the flickering torches and being rather traditional in their ways.

Hyrax smiles. "So I'm not trapped in the dark ages, that's a first. I'm not from earth but I do visit on occasion...actually I reside at earth. But it's a nice change of scenery here"
He follows the tall vampire and watches as he hangs up the coat. The other vampires scare him a little, but he has seen many humanoid species in his life and lots of aliens too. He gives a wry smile, hoping that they won't attack him.
"I don't think I'm of vampire descent... More..alien. I think. But it's really pretty here. Rustic. It's very nice" He feels his eyelids droop. He hasn't slept in weeks. His kind do not need sleep on a regular basis; it's normally only needed when they have been extremely active or fought. His eyes blink slowly, and he stifles a yawn, watching the other vampires curiously.

Cloud grins, waving a hand at the few vampires who stayed behind. They blink, and then leave the room, understanding that they are rather threatening figures; most of them are around six feet tall, and all have red eyes apart from one, a girl who looks remarkably like Cloud, whose eyes are purple. As she leaves, she also grins at them.
"We're far from the dark ages. Though most of Ra-Rael is trapped in what you'd call a kind of dark age. Mostly because they lack thumbs." Sitting in one of the numerous chairs, the vampire looks far less threatening when he's not stood at his full height of seven feet. He gestures to another chair for the traveller, and one of the vampires re-enters the room with a teaset kept for these occasions. They quickly leave again, after putting on a table.
"Tea? Coffee? We keep it around for when the elves come round to discuss politics." Pouring himself a small cup of red liquid, he half shrugs. "Never quite understood why elves are so crazy about coffee."

Hrax grinned, taking to a seat, more comfortable now the rest of the vampires had left. Though he did wonder why he was in a scary castle with what looked like an albino vampire, but hey. "Lack of thumbs, so most of the creatures here are non humoniod? I didn't see anything while I was walking up the hill to the castle.." He paused.
"Uh, tea please" He muttered, swallowing nervously. Was that..blood Cloud was drinking, or just cherryade?

Cloud sips from the cup of what is either red wine or blood (probably the latter) and frowns slightly as he wonders how to best explain the situation of the world they are in. He half rubs his cheek, showing off perfectly manicured nails that have been filed to points, making them look like rather dangerous weapons. Along with his fangs, of course. "Hmm. Well, we're currently in Ra-Vale, where most creatures are humanoid. We're connected by a strip of land called Ra-Divide, to a place called Ra-Rael, which is filled with wild, non-humanoid creatures. Dragons rule there, we rule here."
He pauses as he pours a cup of tea, and pushes it across the table to the young man, the milk and sugar next to the cup. They're suprisingly welcoming, for vampires. So long as one isn't human, you're promised a safe haven, really; the Bloodsongs don't feed from any other creature, even in times of emergency.
